Kamakura and Enoshima, where you can enjoy both the mountain and the sea scenery, are recommended to those who want to take a leisurely walk in a comfortable sea breeze. Another Enjoyment is the Enoden. This time I will introduce some old shops selling Japanese sweets and souvenir near the Enoshima Station.
Take the Odakyu line from Shinjuku, and then transfer to the cute green train Enoden. After arriving at the Enoshima Station, get ready to find the interesting stores.
Watch the Enoden entering the station while you go through the crossroad. Now we are going to have a comfortable walk.
Yokan of the Tamaya
Tamaya is founded in 1912, as old as the Enoden. This century-old shop has enjoyed a long-standing reputation and been appointed to sell the souvenir officially.
The signature souvenir here named “Nori Yokan”, which is mixed with Nori and white bean paste, is handed down from long ago.. The sweetness of the bean paste is perfectly matched for the aroma of the Nori. You will never want to stop it if you have tried it.

When Enoden meets cookies 「La Plage MAIAMI」
[La Plage MAIAMI] is a bakery, located on the right of Enoshima Station. And the freshly baked cookies are the most famous ones.
The specialty of Kamakura named “Kamakura Sabure” is so creamy and crisp that every visitor will buy some as souvenir. In fact, there are cookies shaped in Enoden.
There are three flavors: buttery, chocolate and cheesy. You can buy in single (100yen) or buy in set (367 yen). Nothing will be better than these cute cookies as souvenir.
There is also cakes shaped in Enoden (648yen). The brown one is chocolate flavor, the green one is banana flavor and the red one is wine flavor. They are lovely as well.
Would you like to have a piece of cake and a cup of afternoon tea here?

[Ougiya] is a century-old shop, selling handmade sweets.
There is an old train which had run until 1990. This old guy has been really popular because it reminds visitors the old times.
The most popular sweet is the 「Enoden monaka (1300yen for 10 pieces)」
Enoden monaka, filled with Tsubu-anan, Koshian, Yuzu, plum, sesame seeds is indeed specialty. And the design of the sweets shaped in Enoden is really cute.

Take the perfect picture of Enoden
The sidewalk opposite the Ougiya is the perfect spot to catch the moment when the Enoden runs by. Just pay attention to the alarm from the train. When it rings, it is the time!
I have taken a lot of pictures of the Enoden. This slowly running train makes everyone want to take a picture. Since you have already been in this train, why not have a walk around Enoshima Station. Let’s enjoy the sweetness from the old shops and the lazy time from the old time.
